Emerging as one of the most notable charter exhibitions in the world, the Mediterranean Yacht Show (MEDYS) is an idyllic showcase of the latest and most indulgent yachts for charter in the Mediterranean.
Founded by the Greek Yachting Association (GYA), the Mediterranean Yacht Show is a trade-only event that made its inaugural appearance in 2014. Taking place in the historic town of Nafplion in Greece, the location was chosen for its important cultural roots and picturesque setting.
With more than 90% of crewed Greek yachts represented by members of the GYA, MEDYS offers a comprehensive display of the Mediterranean yacht charters operating in the surrounding region.
Bringing together a large exhibition of charter yachts with lengths of 78ft (24m) and over, ranging from motor and sailing yacht charters to luxury gulets and catamarans, MEDYS annually welcomes more than 700 industry professionals to the docks of Nafplion, offering not only an exclusive opportunity to explore the attending yachts but to also see some of the authentic East Mediterranean charm the destination is known for.
The Port of Nafplion, set along the Argolic Gulf, is a scenic harbor that overlooks the Venetian-era Bourtzi Castle. Serving as a key hub for visiting sailing and motor yacht charters with deep waters and modern facilities, the marina is ideal for the show with seamless access to the surrounding Greek islands, making it an ideal showcase for brokers to pass insights back to prospective Greece yacht charter guests.
Throughout the duration of MEDYS, brokers and other industry professionals are given the opportunity to meet the crews, view new superyachts, and explore any refits that may have been completed over the past 12 months.
Anticipating more than 100 luxury yacht charters at each edition from more than 45 exhibitors, the selection is highly prolific, and in its short history, the event has proven to be one of the most notable exhibitions for crewed yachts. Now annually welcoming yachts from more than 30 countries, the demand continues to grow as more and more charter guests discover the premium indulgence of Mediterranean charter yachts.
In addition to the enticing collection of luxury Greece, Turkey, and Mykonos yacht charters around the marina, attending crews are invited to compete for bragging rights as they put their culinary and tablescaping skills to the test.
Featuring a different theme each year, the chefs create a menu that is sustainable, inviting, and, of course, delicious. Examples of themes set include Zero Waste From the Greek Seas (2023 edition) and Gourmet Beach Food (2019 edition).
